Electrical Panel Upgrades &
Replacement in DFW

Your electrical panel is the heart of your home's wiring. It distributes power to every circuit, and when it's outdated, undersized, or just worn out, everything in the house feels it — from flickering lights to breakers that won't hold. Grizzly handles full panel replacements and upgrades, from 100-amp service on older homes to 200-amp panels for modern DFW households running EV chargers, HVAC, and everything else.

Signs your panel needs attention

Here's what to watch for:

Known-hazard brands in DFW homes

A lot of pre-1990 housing in the Dallas–Fort Worth area was built with panels from brands we now know are defective. Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels have been subject to manufacturer recalls for decades — they can overheat, fail to trip when they should, and create fire hazards. If your home has one of these brands, it's worth having a licensed electrician take a look regardless of whether the panel "seems fine." We handle the full inspection and permit process for replacements.

How Grizzly does it

We start with a panel capacity assessment — what's the current amperage, what are the load demands, and what size upgrade makes sense for the home. Then we handle everything: the permit filing with the local DFW jurisdiction, the inspection coordination, the actual replacement work. You don't need to juggle paperwork or figure out city requirements. We know the process, and we run it.

If you're planning an EV charger down the road, you'll want a 200A panel to handle the load — see our EV charger installation page for details on what that entails.

What affects the cost

Panel upgrades are one of those projects where the scope is pretty clear once we're in the room, but the price still depends on a few factors:

Text us photos of your current panel and we'll give you a heads-up on what to expect — no obligation, and usually the same day. For an actual quote, give us a call.

Insurance benefits

Upgrading a panel — especially replacing a known-hazard brand — often pays dividends with your insurance carrier. Many carriers won't insure a home with a Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel. Replacing it removes the objection and can lower your premiums. We'll provide the documentation you need for the claim or the carrier request.
